Funding opportunities for international mobility
The Erasmus+ mobility programmes offer staff and teaching personnel a wide range of opportunities to gain international experience, develop their skills, and strengthen European cooperation.
University of Bonn also provides numerous funding opportunities for international mobility and networking.
Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training Purposes
Erasmus+ staff mobility is aimed at various target groups, including administrative and technical staff, teaching staff, and other academic staff with significant administrative responsibilities whose mobility projects are related to administration or management. Doctoral researchers may also participate, provided they have an existing employment contract with the university.
Within the framework of staff mobility, different types of activities are possible. These include job shadowing opportunities at a European Erasmus+ programme country institution, participation in International Staff Weeks at European universities, as well as English language courses abroad organized by the International Office.

In addition, the staff mobility programme includes a half-day preparatory workshop, a follow-up workshop, and intercultural training offered by the staff development unit.

ERASMUS+ teaching mobility
Teaching staff have the opportunity to undertake a short-term teaching assignment (minimum of 2 days up to 2 weeks) at a European partner university. These stays help to deepen academic cooperation, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, and expand scientific networks. At the same time, they strengthen the international visibility of both the University of Bonn and the Institute of Geography.
The teaching activity comprises 8 teaching hours per week. The required teaching load may be reduced if additional activities aimed at improving teaching quality are carried out.
Eligible participants include professors, academic staff members (including doctoral researchers) with teaching responsibilities, and adjunct lecturers.
