University College Cork (Irish: Coláiste na hOllscoile Corcaigh), commonly referred to as UCC, is a university located in the city of Cork, Ireland. Today, it is part of the National University of Ireland and has a student population of around 20,000. Approximately 3,000 of these students come from abroad, representing more than 100 countries. Geography is part of the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies (CACSSS), which enrolls about 250 first-year students.

  • The Earth and Ocean Lab is a research group based in the Department of Geography and the Environmental Research Institute at UCC. It focuses on mapping and monitoring a variety of coastal and marine areas to better understand habitat development, seabed sedimentation processes, and changes in the geo-environment.
