The University of Murcia (Spanish: Universidad de Murcia) is one of the largest universities in the Region of Murcia, with around 30,000 students. The first university in Murcia was founded as the Universitas Studiorum Murciana by Alfonso X in 1272. The institution as it exists today was established in 1915.
