Karlstads Universitet
Karlstad University (Swedish: Karlstads Universitet) is a public university and, with around 16,000 students, one of the smaller universities in Scandinavia. It originated from Karlstad University College, founded in 1977, and was granted full university status in 1999. Today, it comprises two main faculties — the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health, Science and Technology — which house the individual departments. From a geographical perspective, both Human Geography and Physical Geography are represented.
