This year's International Paper Award of the Department of Geography at the University of Bonn goes to two scientists from the field of human geography. As there were no submissions from physical geography that met the formal criteria in 2025, only contributions from human geography were considered.
The awards are received by:
-
Douwe van Schie for his article „Addressing non-economic loss and damage: learning from autonomous responses in Bangladesh”, published in Climatic Change 177, 124 (2024). https://doi.org/10.1007/s10584-024-03782-7
- Dr. Frankline Ndi for his article „Land acquisition, renewable energy development, and livelihood transformation in rural Kenya: The case of the Kipeto wind energy project”, published in Energy Research & Social Science, Band 112 (2024). https://doi.org/10.1016/j.erss.2024.103530
We warmly congratulate both award winners on this recognition of their outstanding research! The award ceremony with short presentations by the awardees will take place on November 5, 2025 as part of the “…Wednesdays at GIUB” lecture series.
