Teaching

Based on the research carried out by the research group, teaching activities cover theoretical and applied approaches in geomorphology, global environmental change issues and natural hazards and risks. Current and completed courses as well as PhD, master and bachelor theses conducted within the research group are listed below.

Current notice

The scientific colloquium takes place every two weeks on Thursday, 4-6pm (Room ÜIV). Guests are very welcome! More details down below.

Teaching focus:

  • General geomorphology
  • Geomorphic processes in high mountain areas
  • Natural hazards and risks
  • Global and environmental change
  • Field methods in geomorphology
  • Geomorphometric analysis of digital elevation models

Our research-driven teaching activities focus on theoretical and applied approaches in geomorphology, global environmental change issues and natural hazards and risks. We further offer methodological courses on morphometric analysis and GIS applications in geomorphology (check out our current courses and potential BSc and MSc thesis topics down below). The integration of quantitative methods (lab and field) and the participation of students in research projects are of primary concern.
