From June 23 to 27, 2025, the University of Bonn hosted its first-ever International Partner Days, welcoming around 30 guests from 15 countries – ranging from the USA and Brazil to Sweden. Under the theme “Change and Challenges”, the week brought together colleagues from partner institutions around the globe for a program full of exchange, collaboration, and inspiration, featuring interactive workshops, lectures, and networking events.
A highlight for our Department was the visit of three guests from our partner university in Tanzania (Mzumbe University), whose travel was supported through the Erasmus+ wordwide program. We were pleased to welcome Agness Mchome, a staff member from the International Office, Winfrida Andrews, a staff member from Human Resource Office, and Prof. Editha Ndunguru, Professor for Environment and Development.
On Thursday of the Partner Days, the Tanzanian delegation visited our Department, where we had the opportunity to discuss current and future cooperation in both research and student mobility. In addition to academic exchange, the guests also gained insights into the practical side of the Departmental administration. They met with colleagues from our examination office team and received a first-hand introduction to our new student information and administrative software.
Alongside the professional program, the guests also enjoyed discovering Bonn – from the UN Campus to a traditional Rhineland beer garden – and returned home with many impressions, new ideas, and plans for further collaboration.
