Research

Valentina Nyame’s research focuses on examining how the intersections between socio-political determinants produce differential vulnerability and shape adaptation strategies in low-income communities. Her research incorporates an intersectional lens and seeks to advance locally led adaptation. Valentina holds a BSc in Human Settlement Planning and an MPhil in Planning both from Kwame Nkrumah University for Science and Technology (KNUST). Prior to joining the PhD program, her research projects focused on Ghana and covered the influence of pluralistic land governance structures on sustainable urban green space management, gendered land access and promoting gender transformative approach in meaningful youth participation.
