Anna Schliehe ist seit Mai 2021 Mitglied der Arbeitsgruppe Kulturgeographie und arbeitet in Teilzeit an der Universität Bonn. Außerdem übernahm sie im Januar 2024 die Leitung des Projekts Women's Imprisonment, Social Control and the Carceral State (WISCA) an der Universität Trier. Anna Schliehe ist Gastwissenschaftlerin am Institut für Kriminologie und dem Prisons Research Centre der Universität Cambridge.

Anna Schliehe schloss 2011 ihr Diplomstudium an der Universität Münster ab und absolvierte anschließend einen MRes in Humangeographie an der Universität Glasgow. 2016 schloss sie ihr Promotionsprojekt mit dem Titel "Tracing outsideness: young women's institutional journeys and geographies of closed space" ab. Ihre Forschung ist sowohl von humangeographischen als auch von kriminologischen Erkenntnissen geprägt. Sie interessiert sich für das Verständnis des Wesens und der Erfahrung geschlossener Räume und verbindet empirische mit konzeptionell anspruchsvoller Forschung. Zu ihren Forschungsgebieten gehören die Geographie der Gefängnisse, die Geographie junger Menschen, die Ethnographie der Gefängnisse, die Geographie der Justiz und die feministische Geographie.

Anna Schliehe arbeitet sowohl mit qualitativen als auch mit quantitativen Methoden legt den Fokus ihrer Forschung auf kreative und kollaborative Methoden. Hinzu kommt ihre umfangreiche Expertise in den Bereichen feministische, strukturalistische und post-strukturalistische Ansätze. sowie Ethnographie, Interviews, Umfragen, Beobachtungen, Fotografie, Mental Mapping, etc.

Anna Schliehe verfügt über langjährige Lehrerfahrung. Ihre Lehrtätigkeit orientiert sich an ihren Forschungsinteressen und -methoden sowie an Lehrveranstaltungen zu Forschungsethik und Feldforschungspraktiken.
