On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Chigozie Nweke-Eze successfully defended his dissertation entitled "Economic Geographies of Large-Scale Renewable Energies Development in Kenya: Financing, Governance, and Infrastructures". His dissertation advances energy transition studies by incorporating geographical perspectives and examining power dynamics that shape the development and realization of renewable energy projects in Kenya.

Chigozie Nweke-Eze applied a geographic lens to investigate the actor networks, processes, and linkages in Kenya’s large-scale renewable energy projects, focusing on financing, governance, and infrastructure arrangements. During his PhD, he conducted extensive fieldwork across Kenya, particularly in Nairobi, Nakuru, and Baringo counties.
