The CRC lecture "Contested constructions of wildlife in Namibian conservation practices - a conceptual framework" by Prof. Antje Schlottmann and Prof. Olivier Graefe contains conceptual frameworks of wildlife, the political ecology of Namibia's conservation areas and the visual geographies of Namibia's wildlife. In the end they discuss a conceptual framework for a possible future of Namibia's wildlife. The struggles upon Namibia's future wildlife are a multi-dimensional interplay of practices. This is decisive for conservation of nature, "wildlife" and the practices that include and are formed by imaginations of nature, wildlife and its place. Prof. Schlottmann and Prof. Graefe focus on the interface of political ecology and visual geography in order to understand power-related decision making on and performance of wildlife conservation.
