Bonn Economic Geography welcomes Chigozie Nweke-Eze

PhD student for recently granted CRC project takes up work

The research group Economic Geography of Prof. Klagge welcomes Chigozie Nweke-Eze as new PhD student starting in April 2018. As collaborator in the new Collaborative Research Center 228 “Future Rural Africa” he will work on infrastructures and governance for renewable energies in Kenya from an investor’s perspective.

Chigozie Nweke-Eze is 26 years old and was born in Nigeria. He graduated with a M.Sc. in Economics at the Imo State University, Owerri in Nigeria. On top of that, he successfully  completed a M.A. program in Development Economics and International Studies at the Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) in Erlangen-Nürnberg. Chigozie also worked as an external consultant for the Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association (NIWAAFA) in Abuja, Nigeria, and  gained experience as a visiting researcher for the EU Energy Initiative Partnership Dialogue Facility at the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit).

With this background and his master thesis on “Electricity Sector Reform in Sub-Saharan Africa” he is very well equipped to start his research on renewable energies in Kenya. We are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation within the CRC and beyond and wish Chigozie all the best and good luck in Bonn!
