Borrowing and returning equipment is only possible after arrangement ([Email protection active, please enable JavaScript.], contact one week in advance) and with consideration of the hygiene and distancing measures.
Services
The equipment collection offers a wide range of geographical field and measuring equipment. In addition to instruments for climatology, hydrology, vegetation geography, geomorphology and soil studies, the collection also includes instruments for human geography such as dictation machines and the software f4. The inventory list (in German only) provides an overview of all available equipment.
The instruments can be borrowed by students and staff of the Department of Geography for field courses, theses (bachelor's, master's) as well as research projects.
Borrowing equipment
Equipment can be borrowed during opening hours. Borrowers must always state the following:
- First and lastname
- Type and number of borrowed instruments
- Address, phone number and email address
- Borrowing and return date
- Student ID and registration number
Orders should be placed at least five days before the equipment is collected in order to guarantee availability.
Outside opening hours, orders may be placed by email or may be left in the mailbox in the office. Orders should be placed at least five days before the equipment is needed.
Returning equipment
Equipment should be returned during opening hours. The instruments must be clean and funtioning properly. Borrowers are liable for damages to the instruments. Returns outside of opening hours by appointment only; appointments can be made via email or phone: +49 (0)228 73 9646
