DESCRIPTION:Bonn is a unique case in Europe of a city that lost its capita
 l functions. Such a change significantly impacts the city’s development 
 trajectory. In Bonn’s case\, it appears that despite the changes\, the c
 ity continues to thrive. However\, situations are often more complex. A si
 milar phenomenon occurred in Poland at the regional level. As a result of 
 the territorial division reform\, 33 regional capitals lost their administ
 rative functions. Many of them plunged into crisis\, and their development
  slowed significantly. What are the commonalities and differences between 
 the cases of Bonn and the Polish cities? What actions were taken by the au
 thorities in both instances? What lessons can Bonn draw from the experienc
 es of Polish cities\, and vice versa? This presentation will attempt to ad
 dress these questions.\n\nThere will be a lunch snack (Brezeln) for the pa
 rticipants.
