Geographic Associations

DGfG - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Geographie e.V.

The DGfG is the umbrella organization of geographic unions and organizations in Germany with 25 000 members. The DGfG represents the interests of geographers working at schools, in academia or other fields. They campaign the content and importance of geography as a school subject and as a scientific and applied discipline in public. More than 30 working groups within the DGfG contribute to science and the development of theories and methods within geography. Further information concerning the working groups:

VGDH - Verband der Geographen an deutschen Hochschulen

The VGDH represents the interests of all geographers in academia since 1990. Infomation about the different working groups can be found here.

DVAG - Deutscher Verband für Angewandte Geographie

The DVAG (German Association of Applied Geography) addresses topics such as urban development, real estate industry and economic development. The DVAG offers the platform to exchange knowledge in the field, to build networks and to foster discussions.
