The Department of Geography follows the same guiding principle as the University: tradition and modernness. While our department is housed in a historical and protected monument, our technical equipment and research environment are up to date. This makes our department one of Germany's leading institutes for the training of young geographers.
For an interdisciplinary degree program such as Geography, a wide range of courses is fundamental. This is why we offer our students a versatile range of courses based on the ongoing research at our department. Our students also benefit from our cooperation with several partners from politics and economy, such as the United Nations, the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance, the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation, as well as professionals from the real estate and insurance industries.
