Appraising Risk Partnership: 1st Summer School Workshop


The 1st Summer School Workshop of the Appraising Risk Partnership will focus on „Climate of the Indian Ocean World (IOW) - Past, Present and Future“. By means of a series of classroom-based activities, including interactive practical sessions, participants will be introduced to the main characteristics and drivers of the climate system operating across the region. The use of historical and palaeoclimate archives will be reviewed, with specific emphasis on how to critically appraise uncertainty in these records. A tour of the South Asian collection of the British Library in London will form part of the workshop. A slot to hold a Partnership AGM will also be arranged.
The Workshop will take place at the Centre for World Environmental History, University of Sussex, Brighton, UK, from June 22-27, 2020.
