Research Foci
Transformation of peri-urban spaces; Urban governance; Lefebvre and the ‚Production of Space‘; India.
My research is currently focused on the rapid transformation in peri-urban spaces of Chennai, a future megacity in south India. Transformations are mainly caused by investments of international corporations. Applying Lefebvre´s concept of the ‘Production of Space’, the governance structures shaping these investments as well as the impacts for the local populations are analyzed.
